Author Guidelines
- Title and Abstract
- The title should be concise and contain a maximum of 15 words.
- Manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia must include an abstract in Bahasa Indonesia.
Manuscripts in English should include an abstract in English only. - The abstract must be 150–200 words in length and briefly describe the background, research question(s), method(s), findings, and conclusion.
- Include 3–5 keywords relevant to the manuscript.
- Manuscript Requirements
- Manuscript length should be between 4,500 and 5,500 words, including references.
- The article must be based on either textual/literature research or empirical/field research.
- Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.25 (multiple)
- Language and Citations
- The journal accepts only Latin and Greek quotations for classical languages. Quotations in Hebrew, Arabic, or other symbolic scripts are not permitted.
- In-text citations and bibliography must follow the APA Style 7th Edition.
- Each manuscript must cite a minimum of 20 sources, of which:
- At least 80% must be from publications in the last five years.
- Authors are encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in Mysterium Fidei: Journal of Asian Empirical Theology.
- Headings Format
- First-level headings: UPPERCASE and bold (e.g., INTRODUCTION)
- Second-level headings: Capitalize Each Word, bold and italic
- Third-level headings: Sentence case and italic
- Tables and Figures
- Tables:
- Centered on the page.
- Title placed above the table, aligned left, Times New Roman, 10 pt.
- "Table" and the number (e.g., Table 1) in bold; number uses Arabic numerals.
- Content in Times New Roman, 10 pt, spacing 1.
- Source placed below the table, aligned left, Times New Roman, 10 pt.
- Figures:
- Centered on the page.
- Title placed below the figure, aligned left, Times New Roman, 10 pt.
- "Figure" and the number (e.g., Figure 1) in bold; number uses Arabic numerals.
- Source placed below the figure, aligned left, Times New Roman, 10 pt.
- Peer Review and Revision Process
- All submitted manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review by qualified academics.
- The review process typically takes 1 to 4 weeks.
- Authors are expected to:
- Respond to reviewer comments professionally.
- Revise the article promptly if corrections are required.
- Respond to readers' inquiries after publication if needed.
- Author Information
Each manuscript must clearly state the following:
- Full name of the author(s)
- Institutional affiliation
- Active email address
Reasons for Desk Rejection (Before Peer Review)
A manuscript may be rejected by the Editor prior to peer review for the following reasons:
- The content is outside the focus and scope of the journal.
- The submission is incomplete, e.g., missing abstract, keywords, author info, tables/figures.
- The manuscript uses highly non-standard language (in English or Indonesian) to the extent that it is difficult to understand.
- The manuscript repeats previous research without adding new data, variables, or novelty.
- The research presented is outdated or no longer relevant.
- The manuscript fails to meet the minimum substantive standards as outlined in these guidelines.
- The manuscript raises ethical concerns, including falsification, fabrication, or plagiarism.
- The methods are poorly described, outdated, or irrelevant.
- The use of primary and up-to-date references is insufficient.
