Plagiarism Policies

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

The editorial board of Mysterium Fidei: Journal of Asian Empirical Theology firmly upholds academic integrity and recognizes that plagiarism is a serious violation of scholarly ethics. Accordingly, the journal enforces the following policy on plagiarism and similarity detection in all submitted manuscripts.

To detect textual similarities, the journal utilizes Turnitin originality-checking software. A maximum similarity index of 25% is allowed. If a manuscript exceeds this threshold, it will be returned to the author(s) for revision and resubmission. All detected cases of plagiarism will be evaluated based on the severity of the offense, as described below:

Levels of Plagiarism and Corresponding Actions

  1. Minor Plagiarism
Definition: A small section of another work is copied without appropriate citation, but without significant data or ideas being taken.
Action: A formal warning is issued. The author(s) must revise the text and provide correct citations.
  2. Moderate Plagiarism
Definition: A substantial portion of the manuscript is plagiarized, including verbatim or closely paraphrased content, without proper attribution.
Action: The manuscript is rejected. All listed author(s) will be prohibited from submitting to the journal for one year.
  3. Severe Plagiarism
