Tentang Jurnal Ini

Tradition and Modernity: Journal of Asian Religion and Society is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the study of religion and society in the diverse and dynamic contexts of Asia. The journal explores how religious traditions—both ancient and emerging—interact with contemporary social realities such as cultural transformation, interfaith encounters, and individual spiritual searching.

Rooted in an interdisciplinary framework, the journal invites contributions from scholars engaging with anthropology, psychology, sociology, and phenomenology of religion. It is particularly interested in research that investigates how individuals and communities experience, interpret, and communicate the sacred in everyday life. This includes psychological accounts of religious experience, anthropological studies of ritual and symbolism, sociological analyses of religious groups and charisma, and phenomenological descriptions of lived spirituality.

The journal fosters scholarly conversation on themes such as conflict and reconciliation between religions and cultures, cooperation and solidarity, belonging and identity, and the bridging of religious and cultural boundaries. By encouraging dialogue between tradition and modernity, it seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of how religion continues to shape—and be shaped by—contemporary Asian societies.
